| Sound Ratings(s): | MeddleEarth Sound Rating Sound quality of Maynard's opening "Fuck You" in Hush possessed a warm and friendly atmosphere. Perfect way to set the tone in a High School gymnasium for the children. Nice to hear. Maybe some soundproofing help from the wrestling mats. Recording continues picking up the band cleanly as Maynard vocalizes "Fuck yourself. Fuck yourself. You piece of shit. Why don't you just go Kill yourself?" It sounds nice, and makes you feel good inside. Thankfully, the tape keeps rolling to reprise "Fuck yourself. Fuck yourself. You piece of shit. Why don't you just go Kill yourself?" loud and clear. Aside from brief phasing, sound rating remains high enough to hear Maynard spice up the lyrics to close with "Fuck yourself. Go kill yourself (notice it’s 'kill' here, not 'fuck' as published). You piece of shit. Why don't you go fuck yourself?" Just kidding Just kidding Just kidding But seriously, Maynard drops a line from Ted Nugent's Stranglehold at the 4:40 mark of Crawl Away, sound is picked up nicely. Starjelly08 Sound Rating Lol at the other review. He nailed it pretty well though. There is definitely a tonality here that his kind of, i don't know, warming. You can absolutely hear that it's a High School gym. And yea, I really really wonder how this came about. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to put these mohawk mullet, swearing, squirmy angry little creatures in front of a school...beyond me. But they were right. Anyway. Yea, it sounds like it was recorded (fairly cleanly) in a gym in the early 90s. Not much else to say. Nothing booms, nothing distorts much, not clear but not muddy. Fairly distant sounding, but not too far at all...mostly probably just the big reverb coming from the size of the gym. Tall ass ceiling usually means tons of Verb. Hence good old Zep recording in that stairwell. Its got quite a bit of that Levee sound. hodor Sound Rating Overweighting my vote to regress the meanie. Roecie Sound Rating deckard74
Sound Rating The show cuts into Part of Me, part-way through. All-in-all, not a bad recording for audience. Strange that someone ok'ed the show for a high school! Tool history for sure, and something to appreciate. | |||||||||
